3 reasons why del.icio.us is truly better than digg

This is not a troll. I swear I’ll try to be abjective.

Here’s a little story to start with. You all know 24 ways sure you do. You’ll agree too that at least, at the very least, 60% of the articles they deliver every year are really worth reading and sharing.Read More »

w00t ! del.icio.us told me: take dat in ya face!

Yesterday I told you how I was wondering about people bookmarking del.icio.us website in del.icio.us itself and some people gave us some meaningful explanations for this, such the case where people export their browsers’ bookmarks to their del.icio.us accounts. Logic, and I was stupid.

Now, ironically today, a Japanese website wrote an article about the bivalidator and it seems that it was the origin of today’s fame on del.icio.us. In fact, xhtml-css.com was on the home page of del.icio.us for hours and, at the moment I’m writing this, it’s still there. It’s also in the first positions on del.icio.us/popular , del.icio.us/popular/xhtml , del.icio.us/popular/css and so on…Read More »

Are these 17450 people really stupid 2.0?

Why would 17450 people bookmark del.icio.us URL in del.icio.us? I mean, I bookmark something just in case I’ll forget the URL and come back to it through a bookmarking service such del.icio.us. But hey! Why bookmark the bookmarking service you’re using in the bookmark service you’re using? Am I missing something here or is this stupidity 2.0 at its best?

On IRC, opensource and that gufy

Some comics are very funny and yet very serious.

I've always wondered -thought had a great respect for- how people can spend hours on IRC helping other people, for free, nada, nothing in exchange. I did, but I finished by understanding the reason why. It was simple, true and deep: help people and you'll be happy for being useful. Help people and you'll learn more and more everyday.Read More »

Ads on TV about a TV

Tell me folks, am I really the only one who thinks that it’s a bit stupid that idea of advertising about the high colors quality of a brand new TV on… TV

Happy 30th Birthday Internet!

The Internet is 30 today. Exactly 30 years ago today on November 22, 1977 the first three networks: ARPANET, A lossy packet radio network and The Atlantic Packet Satellite Network (aka SATNET ) were connected to become the Internet.

Dream a little earthquake for me

A “yet another me-too web2.0 opensocial ror ajaxified“ concept! w00t!

Come on… when you’re late, you’re late! I don’t want an invite, nor will I join anyway. Thank you! What’s wrong with all the IMs around? what’s wrong with twitter, youtube? and yet better, what’s wrong with IRC?Read More »

97 things you will hate about del.icio.us

Human nature is a very strange thing. Don’t ask me to explain, I’m not an expert in this field. But I keep on wondering how human beings think sometimes. The fact is here. Never try to fight against it, you won’t succeed anyway.

Huh… I actually wanted to tell you how I hate some N# lists on del.icio.us, digg, reddit and such social bookmarking sites. You know, this kind of lists where the author tells you about “45 ways to be more productive”, “67 javascript tricks that, you idiot, sure don’t yet know”Read More »

Smart people having fun

Via Sam Ruby:

Kevin Lawver: This was a surreal experience... Dan led a sing-along with a bunch of W3C folks, including Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the web, and lots and lots of folks who invented important pieces of it (like CSS, HTML, XHTML, etc). Fun, fun, fun.
Not quite as surreal as finding out that you were one of the subjects.
